The parental leave also applies to an adoption; in Switzerland, the new regulation will be introduced from July 1, 2019. Worldwide, the new standards will be implemented by January 2021. Compared to other major enterprises in Switzerland, Novartis is now on the top. So far, Novartis had only six days of paternity leave. Die Eltern-Auszeit gilt auch bei einer Adoption; in der Schweiz wird die neue Regelung ab dem 1. Juli 2019 eingefuehrt, weltweit sollen die neuen Standards bis Januar 2021 umgesetzt werden. In the last 5 years, the number of parents teaching their children at home has more than doubled. The sharp increase is now alarming politics; a Bernese SP-National Councilor has submitted a motion, which requires nationally uniform rules for Home-Schooling in the future. There shall be minimum requirements like a teaching diploma and regular checks by the school inspectorate. Particularly widespread is the so-called "Home-Schooling" in the Canton of Vaud (VD) with 650 children, followed by the Canton of Berne with 576, Aargau with 246 and Zurich with 240 children. There are also 10 Cantons where not a single child is home-schooled; in the Canton Ticino (TI), it is even banned. In the Canton of Vaud (VD) there are no minimum requirements for "Home- Schooling". Many Cantons are concerned about this trend; the "Parents have an upbringing-, but no Education Mission", this is a matter of the State. Cantons regulate admission to "Home-Schooling" very differently; therefore, there are these big differences in the number of students. According to the President of the "Association for Home Education", 20 years ago "Home-Schooling was a marginal phenomenon; few families, which originated primarily from evangelical free churches, did so. "Home- Schooling" is basically also a symptom of post-modernism, a consequence of individualization. The Canton of St. Gallen has given a penalty of CHF 1,000 to a family because they did not send a child to nursery school. According to some Cantons, there are "clear disadvantages in private tuition, since the elementary school is supposed to convey not only professional but also social skills". According to the "Lohntendenzen.ch" platform, which specializes in wage surveys, the employees' incomes rose on average by 1.2%. The inflation adjustment is again an issue; before the financial crisis of 2008/9, approx. two-thirds of employees enjoyed a general income growth. Trade union economist Lampart had called for a "Turnaround" already last fall, requesting wage increases for all employees. Based on "Lohntendenzen.ch", the share of companies that individually adjust the incomes has increased since 2007 from just under 70% to more than 90%. In the Public Administration, general wage increases are most widely used, with a share of 61% at the companies surveyed. The information technology (IT) and Business Services sector have the highest wage increases, averaging 1.7%; the pharmaceutical industry is also on the top with (+) 1.4%. The EMS-Group is the Swiss company that reduces the most CO2, says Mrs. Martullo about her company. Between 2001 and 2017, the company was able to reduce 85% of its CO2-emissions thanks to its biomass power station on the premises, says Mrs. Martullo. Not only the energy sources are climate-friendly at "EMS", but "the business consists largely of CO2 savings, as "EMS" is producing lighter parts with special plastics". The energy demand per ton of final product was reduced by 43% between 2001 and 2017. When it comes to saving energy, technical progress is more effective than the massive increase in energy costs, as planned by the Federal Government, says Mrs. Martullo-Blocher.
