UBS posted a quarterly profit of CHF 1.5 billion, an increase of 19% compared to the same quarter last year. This is more than the largest Swiss bank has produced in the entire last year. However, UBS's profit is still modest compared to the big US-Banks. The largest six US-Banks made a total profit of more than 30 billion US-Dollars in the first quarter of 2018, reported the news agency Bloomberg. The US-Bank Morgan Stanley alone produced a profit of US- Dollars 2.7 billion in the first quarter. The US-Banks profited not only by the good US-economy, but also from the lower US-tax rates. The US-Investment Banks, in particular, exceeded the expectations of the experts by far. According to UBS-CEO Ermotti, the Swiss UBS is in the investment bank field a "David" and the US-Banks are "Goliath". In the global competition, US-Banks can use their larger balance sheets for their own benefit, said Mr. Ermotti. But, a dominance of US-money houses poses risks for Swiss companies. In the financial crisis, US- Banks suddenly withdrew from Europe and cut their credit lines for local companies. The context to this is the lack of reform of the banking sector in the EU; there is still no European Banking Union so far. The EU has already decided the Banking Union in 2014, but the reform is stubbornly opposed in the EU-member State Germany. During the financial crisis, it became clear that "problem banks" could become an issue not only for individual EU-member States, but for the entire EU as well. Die EU hat die Banken-Union schon 2014 beschlossen, die Reform stoesst aber in Deutschland auf kraeftige Ablehnung. In these two countries, critical journalists were recently murdered. At the top of the "Press Freedom Ranking 2018" are Norway and Sweden; Switzerland has improved from Rank No. 7 in 2017 to Rank No. 5. According to "ROG", the press freedom is doing well in Switzerland, but the economic pressure on the private media, especially the print media has continued to increase. Now the journalist in charge was not only threatened by graffiti on the house wall, but at night even a stone was thrown through the window glass of her apartment. The culprits have exceeded a "red line" with their action, wrote the Chief Editor of Tamedia in an article. Am 3. However, if you move from an old to a new apartment, you usually pay a higher rent. The spread in the monthly net rent can quickly exceed CHF 1,500, especially in Cities such as Geneva and Zurich. If you are looking for affordable apartments in Swiss central points, you will rarely find something. That's why many people have to move to the countryside for a rented apartment. This trend could even become worse, despite the boom in construction. In Switzerland, apartments are not built there, where they are needed. Many tenants make this experience when in search of a home. Where the demand is greatest, supply is the smallest and most expensive. This shows the current real estate report of the consulting firm "Wuest Partner". Wer eine bezahlbare Wohnung in Schweizer Zentren sucht, findet nur selten etwas. Deshalb muessen viele Leute fuer eine Mietwohnung aufs Land ziehen; dieser Trend koennte sich noch verschaerfen, trotzdem Bau-Boom. Wohnungen werden in der Schweiz nicht dort gebaut, wo sie gebraucht werden. Dies erfahren viele Mieter auf der Suche nach einem Zuhause. It's about business dealings with fake designer (brand) clothing. Chinese gangs are said to import goods tax free through this port; Piraeus Port is operated by the Chinese state-owned company "Cosco". With fake delivery addresses, the value-added tax (VAT) can be bypassed and with too low declared value of goods, import taxes are avoided. Italy has already suffered a high level of damage through losses of revenue. The Chinese Group "Cosco" has since 2016 the majority on the operator of the port. Piraeus shall become a hub for Chinese exports to the EU. Greece's largest port is part of the Chinese Silk Road project. With 7.2 out of 10 points, the Swiss Railway System achieved the first overall rank of the railway systems in Europe. Ranked next are the following countries: Denmark, Finland, Germany and Austria. The index is established by "The Boston Consulting Group (BCG)" and it considers the criteria of "Intensity of Use", "Quality of Service" and "Safety". Portugal, Romania and Bulgaria are on the last places in the ranking. In the categories "Quality and Safety", some countries are however better ranked than Switzerland. So there is still room for improvement for the Swiss railway system. The high network utilization makes the Swiss railway system susceptible to disruptions. There is a greater risk of accidents, the more intensive the rail network is used. After days of mass protests, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan resigned under pressure from the street protests. The 63-years-old ex-President of the country admitted to having made a mistake and declared "I resign from the post of Head of Government". The protest wave had started eleven days ago; the reason for it was that Sargsyan, having served as President of the Country for ten years, had not handed down the power as promised. Instead, he was elected to the post of Head of Government; the post had received more power based on a change of the constitution. During the protests there was no directional dispute, it was "only the people against the corrupt elite". This has brought the quick victory, stands in the article.
