The award is given by the German trade magazine <Crema> and by international experts; it is the highest <Coffee-Award> and it honors with the awarding the <Best Coffee> in the whole German-speaking region. The objective of the traditional family enterprise is to offer its customers the <perfect coffee> and that is a permanent challenge as the manager and owner Markus Rast said. The award honors annually that enterprise that can produce continuously an outstanding quality of the roasted coffee. Das Schweizer Unternehmen <Rast Kaffee AG>, die Kaffee Gourmet Roesterei mit Sitz in Ebikon (Kanton Luzern) wurde mit dem Titel <Roester des Jahres 2010> ausgezeichnet. Die Auszeichnung wird vom deutschen Fachmagazin <Crema> und von internationalen Experten vergeben; es handelt sich um die hoechste <Kaffee-Auszeichnung> und sie bezeichnet damit den <besten Kaffee> in der ganzen deutsch- sprachigen Region. On the construction site were temporarily up to 6,000 workers and 97 architects in action at the same time; now after a construction period of three years, the new stadium is completed and ready for the FIFA World Championship. The Swiss woman studied at ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) and then went to the Harvard University in the USA. Then she started her career at the architectural office <GMP> in Berlin; there she constructed first a <Cricket-Stadium> in Dubai. The architect woman will soon relocate to Rio de Janeiro where she is going to build airports, railway stations and sports stadiums for the FIFA WM 2014. Die 39-jaehrige Schweizer Architektin Michelle Rueegg plante drei der neun neuen Fussball-Stadien fuer die FIFA Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft 2010 in Suedafrika; eines davon ist das neue <Green-Point-Stadion> in Kapstadt. Auf der Baustelle waren zeitweise bis zu 6 000 Arbeiter und 97 Architekten gleichzeitig im Einsatz; jetzt nach einer Bauzeit von drei Jahren steht das neue Stadium bereit fuer die FIFA- Weltmeisterschaft. Die Schweizerin studierte an der ETH Zuerich und ging danach an die Harvard Universitaet in den USA. Through the significantly higher exports, the economic recovery in Japan will be accelerated; the imports have increased by 24,2% too. The trade surplus in the month of April 2010 amounted to 742 billion Yen (ca. 9,5 billon SFr.). According to calculations of the OECD, the economy in Japan will grow by 3% this year and by 2% in the year 2011. The unemployment is expected to remain high and the drop-off in prices shall continue. Die japanischen Ausfuhren stiegen im Monat April 2010 wesentlich und lagen um 40,4% hoeher als im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Durch die deutlich gestiegenen Exporte wird die wirtschaftliche Erholung in Japan beschleunigt; die Importe stiegen ebenfalls um 24,2%. Researchers of the ETH Zurich have participated on that research project too. With the neutrino research, man wants to find out why there is more matter than anti-matter in the universe. Im <Super-Kamiokande> einem riesigen, unterirdischen Wassertank mit einem Fassungs-Vermoegen von 50 000 Litern und zirka 11 000 Detektor- Elementen konnte anfangs des Jahres in Japan erstmals ein Neutrino sichtbar gemacht werden. An dieser Forschung sind ebenfalls Forscher der ETH in Zuerich beteiligt. Mit der Neutrino-Forschung moechte man herausfinden, warum es im Universum mehr Materie als Anti-Materie gibt. Neues Steuerabkommen mit Japan. Japan's Ambassador to Switzerland, Mr. Komatsu Ichiro have signed the protocol about the amendment of the double taxation agreement (DTA) between Switzerland and Japan in Berne on May 21st 2010. The new agreement contains regulations on the exchange of information based on the OECD-standard; thanks to that extended administrative assistance have been agreed. The two representatives have exchanged the documents and made handshake with each other. According to information by the Finance Department, the agreement with Japan is already the fifteenth of its kind, which Switzerland has signed with other countries. Der Schweizer Finanzminister Hans-Rudolf Merz und S.E. Japans Botschafter fuer die Schweiz Komatsu Ichiro haben am 21. Mai 2010 in Bern das Protokoll zur Aenderung des Doppelbesteuerungsabkommens zwischen der Schweiz und Japan unterzeichnet. Das neue Abkommen enthaelt Bestimmungen zum Informationsaustausch nach OECD-Standard; damit wurde mit Japan eine erweiterte Amtshilfe vereinbart. Die Beiden haben die Dokumente dazu mit Handschlag (handshake) ausgetauscht. Gemaess Angaben des Finanzdepartements ist das Abkommen mit Japan bereits die 15. Vereinbarung dieser Art, welche die Schweiz mit anderen Laendern unterschrieben hat. Despite his great effort, he has not (yet) succeeded to find a basically other solution in the short period of his government. According to the now signed agreement, the US-air force base shall be relocated to Henoko; besides, as already earlier agreed, 8,000 US-soldiers with relatives shall move to Guam (U.S. territory) from Okinawa, for what the due date is 2014. Without approval of the local citizens, the USA apparently does not intend to relocate. The United States shall have pushed Japan to turn it and in view of the actual tensions on the Korean peninsula, the Prime Minister assessed the national security of Japan higher than local interests. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guam Wie versprochen hat der japanische Ministerpraesident die selber gesetzte Frist von Ende Mai 2010 fuer einen Entscheid betreffend der Verlegung des US-Stuetzpunktes Futenma eingehalten. Trotz grossem Einsatz ist es ihm in der kurzen Zeit seiner Regierung (noch) nicht gelungen, eine grundsaetzlich andere Loesung zu finden. Gemaess dem jetzt unterschriebenen Abkommen soll die US-Luftwaffenbasis nach Henoko verlegt werden; wie bereits frueher vereinbart, sollen zudem 8 000 US-Soldaten mit Angehoerigen von Okinawa nach Guam umziehen, wobei der Termin dafuer 2014 ist. Ohne Zustimmung der lokalen Bevoelkerung wollen die USA scheinbar jedoch nicht umziehen. Die USA sollen Japan zum Einlenken gedraengt haben und angesichts der aktuellen Spannungen auf der koreanischen Halbinsel, gewichtete der Premierminister die nationale Sicherheit Japans hoeher als lokale Interessen. The New Zealander, a member of the as <militant> called organization <Sea Shepherd>, threw bottles with butyric acid on a Japanese fishery ship, at which a member of the crew suffered burns in the face. Besides, he climbed on the Japanese ship, carrying a long knife with him. The charges are as follows: riot, violent obstruction of an official business, damage to property; besides, a violation of the Japanese law on firearms happened! In case, he will be found guilty on all charges, he could be sentenced to prison for up to 15 years. Ein neuseelaendischer Walfang-Gegner bekannte sich in vier von fuenf Anklagepunkten vor einem Gericht in Tokyo als schuldig. Der Neuseelaender, ein Mitglied der als <militant> bezeichneten Organisation <Sea Shepherd>, warf Flaschen mit Buttersaeure auf ein japanisches Fischerei-Schiff, wobei ein Mitglied der Besatzung Verbrennungen im Gesicht erlitt. Zudem kletterte er auf das japanische Schiff, wobei er ein langes Messer mit sich fuehrte. Die Anklage lautet auf Landfriedensbruch, der gewaltsamen Behinderung eines offiziellen Geschaefts, der Sachbeschaedigung; zudem liegt ein Verstoss gegen das japanische Waffengesetz vor! Bei einer Verurteilung in allen Punkten koennte eine Gefaengnisstrafe von bis zu 15 Jahren ausgesprochen werden. (Quelle: Tages-Anzeiger vom 28.05.2010) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butyric_acid 8) イタリアの狂犬病脅威 Canine madness (rabies) from Italia a threat Tollwut aus Italien eine Bedrohung (Tue. 25.05.2010 Smi) スイス当局は、北イタリアで急速且広範に蔓延している狂犬病を心配してい る。確認された件数は2008年は9件だったが、2009年には69件に上り、2010年 5月半ばで既に180頭の動物の罹患が確認された。特にキツネが多く、猫や馬 も罹患している。狂犬病は目下スイス国境から100km離れたところで確認され ており、スイスに差し迫った危険は無い。スイス当局者は、極めて厳格に状 況を観察しており、国境地帯ではスイスにヴィールスが進入する場合の体制 を整えている！犬や猫は予防接種をする事になっている。スイスで狂犬病は 1999年以降途絶えている。狂犬病に罹っている動物に人間が噛まれた場合死 に至る！東欧では狂犬病のヴィールスが広範囲に広がっている。 （出典：2010年5月25日付20分紙） The Swiss authorities are worried about the rapid and wide spread of the canine madness (rabies) in Northern Italy. The number of confirmed cases has increased from nine in the year 2008, to 69 in the year 2009 and up to the middle of May 2010, already more than 180 rabid animals were counted. Affected were in particular foxes, however, cats and horses too. The rabies is presently still about 100 kilometers away from the Swiss border and Switzerland is presently not endangered. The Swiss authorities observe however the developments very carefully and in the border area, preparations have been made, should the virus infiltrate into Switzerland! Dogs and cats could be vaccinated; in Switzerland, the rabies was wiped out since 1999. The bite of an infected animal can be deadly for the human! In Eastern Europe, the virus of rabies is widely spread. Die Schweizer Behoerden sind besorgt ueber die rasche und breite Ausbreitung der Tollwut in Norditalien. Die Zahl der bestaetigten Faelle nahm von neun im Jahr 2008 auf 69 im Jahr 2009 zu und bis Mitte Mai 2010 wurden bereits mehr als 180 tollwuetige Tiere gezaehlt. Betroffen waren insbesondere Fuechse, jedoch ebenfalls Katzen und Pferde. Die Tollwut ist derzeit noch zirka 100 Kilometer von der Schweizer Grenze entfernt und die Schweiz ist momentan nicht bedroht. Die Schweizer Behoerden verfolgen die Entwicklung jedoch sehr genau und in den Grenzregionen ist man vorbereitet, sollte das Virus in die Schweiz eindringen! Hunde und Katzen koennten geimpft werden; in der Schweiz ist die Tollwut seit 1999 ausgerottet. Der Biss von einem infizierten Tier kann beim Menschen toedlich sein! In Osteuropa ist das Virus der Tollwut weit verbreitet. At the entrance hall of <Kadoyasan>, there is a small coffee-house place where we enjoyed some typical Japanese sweets such as <Kanten kurozato> and <cream anmitsu>, containing machia ice, anko etc. You also get the delicious natural water free, it's pure and fresh. We also bought the Magazine <Komachi Week>, which gives you a broad view and information about that part of Niigata. Our Ryokan cultivates its own rice field offering its guest delicious local Niigata rice. Because of the parking regime, guests deposit their car key at the front upon arrival and when going out you pick it up there. We went straight to the river cruising peer at <Aga no Sato>; next course was leaving at 1 pm. That was why we had time, to look through the local market in front of the pier.
