These people find work in special establishments, which are distributed over the whole country. In general, those persons are engaged in less qualified activities and therefore are accordingly less paid. A standard (model) regarding to the employment of handicapped persons in Japan, is the enterprise <Yamato Takkyubin>; a private foundation supports the company in that field. That foundation was significantly involved in the establishment of the <Swan Bakery>, a chain with bakeries and restaurants; both enterprises employ disabled persons on normal working conditions and these people are fully integrated into the working process. The customers of these two companies do not even notice that they were served by so-called <handicapped>. These projects show that disabled persons can achieve absolutely a good working performance if they are integrated accordingly into the <everyday work life>. In Japan mit seinen rund 126 Millionen Einwohnern gibt es schaetzungsweise sechs Millionen Behinderte. Diese Menschen finden Arbeit in besonderen Einrichtungen, welche ueber das ganze Land verteilt sind. Im Allgemeinen fuehren sie jedoch weniger qualifizierte Taetigkeiten aus, welche entsprechend gering bezahlt werden. Ein Vorbild betreffend der Beschaeftigung von behinderten Menschen ist in Japan das Unternehmen <Yamato Takkyubin>; eine private Stiftung unterstuetzt die Firma dabei. Diese Stiftung war massgeblich an der Gruendung der <Swan Bakery>, einer Kette mit Baeckereien und Restaurants beteiligt; beide Unternehmen beschaeftigen Behinderte zu ueblichen Arbeitsbedingungen und diese Menschen sind voll in den Arbeitsprozess integriert. Die Kunden dieser zwei Firmen merken gar nicht, dass sie von so-genannten <Behinderten> bedient werden. Diese Projekte zeigen, dass behinderte Menschen durchaus eine gute Arbeitsleistung erbringen koennen, wenn sie entsprechend in den Berufsalltag integriert werden. The Japanese is going to drive formula one car races for the Swiss team of <Peter Sauber> as from the year 2010. The Swiss racing stable owner Sauber recently bought <his> enterprise back from the company BMW, because the <BMW-Sauber> racing team wanted to retreat from the motor racing sports. Thanks to his initiative (commitment), Peter Sauber saved his lifework and assured working places in the Canton of Zurich. The <Sauber-Team> is convinced of the capability (skills) and potential of the young Japanese and he is proud that his dream will now come true to drive races in the formula one motor race sports. Kobayashi lives presently in Paris and he speaks English too. Der Schweizer Rennstall-Besitzer Sauber kaufte <sein> Unternehmen vor kurzem von BMW wieder zurueck, da sich <BMW-Sauber> aus dem Formel-I Rennsport zurueck ziehen wollte. Durch seine Initiative <rettete> Peter Sauber sein Lebenswerk und sicherte damit Arbeitsplaetze im Kanton Zuerich. The enterprise intends to take up its business operations in Geneva already in January 2010. The already established office located in Zug will remain too. The relocation is justified with the fact that nearly 85% of their business activities are handled outside of North America. Thanks to the relocation, the efficiency in management shall be increased considerably and the enterprise will be closer to the markets and the customers. The Group employs a workforce of totally more than 14,000 people and the turnover was around 7 billion US-Dollars. With the campaign <one million stars>, the relief organization Caritas wants to promote solidarity and social coherence in Switzerland; the campaign has been done already for some years. The initiative <inflame a candle, make a sign>, was observed by many people in the country. Many thousands of candles were inflamed in about 180 Swiss Cities and communes on squares, bridges and buildings on Saturday evening. The candles and the lights brought a pre-Christmas atmosphere. On the Swiss Federal Square in Berne, 2,000 candles were inflamed and the head of Caritas held a speech. He pointed out to the social consequences of the economic imposition and said that Switzerland will soon have the highest unemployment since the Second World War. Mit einem Lichtermeer aus Kerzen wirbt die karitative Organisation Caritas fuer materielle Hilfe gegen soziale Not und fuer eine solidarische Schweiz. Mit der seit einigen Jahren durchgefuehrten Aktion <Eine Million Sterne> soll gemaess dem Hilfswerk Caritas fuer Solidaritaet und sozialen Zusammenhalt in der Schweiz geworben werden. Der Initiative <Ein Licht anzuenden, ein Zeichen setzen>, folgten viele Menschen im Land. Viele tausend Kerzen wurden am Samstagabend in zirka 180 Schweizer Staedten und Gemeinden auf Plaetzen, Bruecken und Gebaeuden entzuendet. Die Kerzen und das Licht brachten eine vorweihnaechtliche Stimmung. Auf dem Bundesplatz in Bern wurden 2 000 Kerzen angezuendet und der Direktor von Caritas hielt eine Ansprache. Er wies auf die sozialen Folgen des wirtschaftlichen Umbruchs hin und dass die Schweiz auf die hoechste Arbeitslosigkeit seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zu gehe. Within the scope of a secret, so-called <consultative vote> (straw poll), the Swiss candidate was victorious against his competitor, the former Belgian Foreign Minister, in the West-European country group consisting of 29 member states. The poll for that position will take place in May or June 2010 and the elected person will take over office in the middle of September 2010. The victory of the Swiss candidate shows that Switzerland enjoys still a high reputation at the headquarters of the United Nations! That is particularly thanks to the achievement of the Swiss UN-ambassador Mr. Peter Maurer. He has become the President of the UN-Budget committee since the middle of this year. Der fruehere Schweizer Praesident und Bundesrat Joseph Deiss wird vermutlich im naechsten Jahr zum Praesidenten der 65. UNO-General- versammlung gewaehlt werden. Im Rahmen einer geheimen, so-genannten Konsultativ-Abstimmung (straw poll) siegte der Schweizer Kandidat in der 29 Mitglied-Staaten umfassenden west-europaeischen Laendergruppe gegen seinen Konkurrenten, den ehemaligen belgischen Aussenminister. Die Wahl fuer dieses Amt findet im Mai oder Juni 2010 statt und der Gewaehlte tritt sein Amt mitte September 2010 an. Der Sieg des Schweizer Kandidaten zeigt, dass die Schweiz am Hauptsitz der Vereinigten Nationen (UNO) weiterhin hohes Ansehen geniesst! Dies ist insbesondere der Leistung des Schweizer UN-Botschafters Peter Maurer zu verdanken, welcher seit mitte dieses Jahres den UNO-Budget- Ausschuss praesidiert. The grading runs under the title <Readers Choice Awards>; also two Swiss luxury hotels succeeded to reach a ranking on the list of the <TOP 100 of the World>. There are the <Hotel Baur au Lac> and the <Hotel Widder> both located in the City of Zurich. The first one is ranked as number 49 and the later one has the ranking as number 66. The magazine <CN Traveler> is the worldwide most important travel magazine for luxury travels. The comment for the two Swiss hotels was very good; <design>, architecture and location were particularly mentioned. Das angesehene internationale Reisemagazin <Conde Nast Traveler> veroeffentlichte seine Liste mit den <besten> 100 Hotels der Welt (Top 100). Die Klassierung laeuft unter dem Titel <Readers Choice Awards>; auf die Rangliste der <Top 100 der Welt> haben es ebenfalls zwei Schweizer Luxushotels geschafft, es sind dies das <Hotel Baur au Lac> und das <Hotel Widder> beide in der Stadt Zuerich. In the crisis people realize, how well-off they are, having a working place, a family and a social net! Ahead of Christmas, always particularly a lot of charity request letters arrive by post to the home of the people. In Switzerland, people are very <charity-minded> compared to the European neighbor countries. In the year 2008, the amount of 1,437 billion Swiss Francs was spent for charity purpose; a Swiss household spent an average of SFr. 450 (about Yen 38,000) per year for charity. Besides private people, enterprises, foundations and institutions spend money for relief organizations. Selbst in der Wirtschaftskrise bleiben die Schweizer grosszuegige Spender; insbesondere vermoegende Schweizer sind sogar <Spende- freudiger> geworden. In der Krise wird den Menschen bewusst, wie gut es ihnen geht, wenn sie einen Arbeitsplatz, eine Familie und ein soziales Netz haben! Vor der Weihnachtszeit kommen immer besonders viele Spendebriefe von diversen Hilfsorganisationen via Post in das Haus. In der Schweiz sind die Menschen im Vergleich mit den europaeischen Nachbarlaendern sehr <Spende-freudig>. (Neue Zuger Zeitung vom 09.12.2009) http://www.zewo.ch/ http://www.gfs-zh.ch/data/archiv/Fund2009b.pdf 8) 異例のツューリッヒ市議会20時間審議 Unique Zurich City parliament sat for 20 hours Einmalig Zuerch Stadtparlament tagte 20 Stunden (Mon. 14.12.2009 Smi) 予算審議は議会にとっていつも骨の折れる難しい仕事だ。ツューリッヒ市議 会はその為に、先週水曜日の午後と金曜日、更に土曜日の午前8時半から日程 を組んでいた。土曜日の予算審議は例外ではないものの、今回市議会議員達 はこの会議を金曜日からぶっ通しで全ての事業を審議する事にした。マラソ ン会議は20時間継続して行われ、土曜日の朝4時半に漸く終える事が出来た。 2010年度予算は議会で承認され、市議会議員達は議長に拍手で感謝した。 （出典：2009年12月14日付ターゲス・アンツァイガー紙） Debates about the budget are a laborious and difficult matter for Parliaments. The municipal council of the City of Zurich had reserved for that agenda item the afternoons of Wednesday and Friday as well as Saturday from 8:30 a.m. last week. Meetings on a Saturday about the budget are not unusual; this time, the deputes however had decided to continue the meeting on Friday until all affairs were negotiated (concluded). That led to a <Marathon-Session> of 20 hours which ended not earlier than on Saturday early morning at 04:30 a.m. The Budget for the year 2010 was accepted by the parliament and the deputes said thanks to the Presidency of the Parliament by making an applause. Debatten ueber das Budget sind fuer Parlamente immer eine anstrengende und schwierige Sache. Der Gemeinderat, das Stadtparlament der Stadt Zuerich, hatte dafuer letzte Woche die Nachmittage von Mittwoch und Freitag sowie den Samstag ab 08:30h Uhr vorgemerkt. Sitzungen zum Budget am Samstag sind nicht ungewoehnlich; dieses Mal beschlossen die Abgeordneten jedoch, dass die Sitzung vom Freitag fort zu fuehren sei, bis alle Geschaefte behandelt seien. Dies fuehrte dazu, dass die Marathon-Sitzung 20 Stunden dauerte und erst am Samstag morgen um 04:30h beendet werden konnte. Das Budget fuer das Jahr 2010 wurde vom Parlament akzeptiert und die Abgeordneten danken dem Ratspraesidenten mit einem Applaus. It was really hot and humid so that we strongly sweated even it was September. At the police box (Kohban) in front of the station, we asked the way to the <Toyota car Rental> shop; it is located in a narrow side street about three minutes on foot from the station. We took over our eco rental car and I was given a brief instruction about the handling. Fortunately, I had used the same car model in the past years and because it was an automatic car, it was not so difficult to handle. We mentioned to the sales staff that we found the climate in Nagano-shi very hot and humid compared to Tokyo before. The staff said that Nagano is a <bonchi> (geologically a basin/dell) leading to hot and humid weather in summer and dry and cold weather in winter.
