Despite its long storage life, the apple was however to sour to eat and therefore it has never been merchandised. The Swiss company <Mibelle Cosmetics>, an enterprise of the Migros Group, has developed in the past five years a substance (serum) for cosmetic products, which uses the unique characteristic (wrinkle-free) of the Swiss apple. The stem cells of the apple have the cause to keep the human skin stem cells vital and the skin remains longer young. The Swiss serum is since 2008 on the market and famous international cosmetic companies such as <Lancome> or <Clark's Botanicals> use the Swiss substance already. The US First Lady cares her face with a product based on the Swiss apple; it costs 355 US Dollars. In Switzerland, a similar cosmetic product of the line <Zoe> is for sale at <Migros> for only SFr. 29.50 (ca. Yen 2900). In the recent issue of the magazine <Vogue>, you can find an article with the headline: <Skin care's miracle anti-aging apple>. Eine seltene Schweizer Apfelsorte namens <Uttwiler Spaetlauber> hat die Eigenschaft, dass seine Schale sogar vier Monate nach der Ernte noch einwandfrei und faltenlos ist. Trotz seiner langen Haltbarkeit war der Apfel aber zu sauer zum Essen und wurde deshalb nie vermarktet. Die Schweizer Firma <Mibelle Cosmetics>, ein Unternehmen der Migros, entwickelte in den letzten fuenf Jahren einen Wirkstoff (Serum) fuer Kosmetikprodukte, welcher die einmalige Eigenschaft des Schweizer Apfels (Faltenlosigkeit) nutzt. Die Stammzellen des Apfels bewirken, dass die menschlichen Hautstammzellen vital und die Haut laenger jung bleibt. Das Schweizer Serum ist seit 2008 auf dem Markt und beruehmte internationale Kosmetikunternehmen wie <Lancome> oder <Clark's Botanicals> verwenden den Schweizer Wirkstoff bereits. Die US First Lady pflegt ihr Gesicht ebenfalls mit einem Produkt aus dem Schweizer Apfel; es kostet 355 US Dollars. The motorway A4 has a length of about 18 kilometers and the construction cost was 1,138 Mrd. Swiss Francs. The clearing for traffic, of the no doubt most disputed structure, took place nearly 50 years after the planning of the Swiss motorway network had started. The construction time was eight years; however, before a decade long battle between opponents and proponents took place. The today finalized line management of the motorway has considered in essence the requests of the <Motorway-Opponents>, it is much better as once planned and it pays large respect to the environment and the nature; it considered to be sustainable. The project demonstrates impressively the history and the character of the direct Swiss democracy; thanks to citizen’s initiatives, you can bring about a lot producing useful effects in Switzerland. Am Freitag wurde das letzte Teilstueck der Autobahn von Luzern nach Zuerich durch das Knonaueramt durch den Bundesrat und Mitglieder der Kantone Zuerich und Zug eroeffnet. Die Autobahn A4 hat eine Laenge von zirka 18 Kilometer und die Baukosten betrugen 1,138 Mrd. Franken. Damit konnte fast 50 Jahre nach Planung des Schweizer Autobahn- Netzes, das wohl umstrittenste Bauwerk fuer den Verkehr freigegeben werden. Die Bauzeit betrug acht Jahre; vorher gab es jedoch einen Jahrzehnte langen Streit zwischen Gegnern und Befuerwortern der Autobahn. Die heute verwirklichte Linienfuehrung der Autobahn beruecksichtigte im Wesentlichen die Forderungen der <Autobahn- Gegner>, ist viel besser als einmal geplant und sie nimmt grosse Ruecksicht auf die Umwelt und Natur; sie wird als nachhaltig bezeichnet. Das Projekt zeigt eindruecklich, die Geschichte und das Wesen der direkten Schweizer Demokratie; dank Buerger-Initiativen laesst sich in der Schweiz vieles auf eine sinnvolle Weise bewirken. The enterprise was in the red in the second term of this year, in particular due to a decline of the passenger- and cargo business. The loss amounted to 1,5 Mrd. Swiss Francs for the first six months of 2009; in the same period of the previous year a profit (surplus) of about 450 Mio. SFr. was reported. The enterprises is asking banks for bridge loans; besides the economic crisis, there is a heavy burden of debts of 15,2 Mrd. SFr., pension fund liabilities and many not profitable airline routes. Nach dem Umsatz ist die japanische Fluggesellschaft <Japan Airlines> (JAL) die groesste <Airline> in Asien; wegen der aktuellen Wirtschaftskrise befindet sich die Gesellschaft jedoch derzeit in einer schwierigen Lage. Das Unternehmen schrieb im zweiten Quartal dieses Jahres rote Zahlen, insbesondere wegen dem ruecklaeufigen Passagier- und Frachtgeschaeft. Der Verlust betrug in den ersten sechs Monaten im 2009 1,5 Mrd. SFr.; im gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres resultierte noch ein Ueberschuss von zirka 450 Mio. SFr. Besides prize money of 50,000 Euros, he received a violin of the Italian violin maker Giovanni Battista from the 18th century as a loan for three years. The event is organized every three years since 1991. Der erst 16-jaehrige Japaner Miura Fumiaki gewann den <Internationalen Violin-Wettbewerb Hannover> in Deutschland. Er erhielt nebst dem Preisgeld von 50 000 Euro, eine Violine des italienischen Geigenbauers Giovanni Battista aus dem 18. Jahrhundert fuer drei Jahre als Leihgabe. (Wed. 11.11.2009 Smi) 日本の納税者は50年以上に及んだ前政権自民党が貯め込んだ重い「過去の重 荷」を負っている。そうした計画の中には85の空港と多くのダムと橋梁があ る。過去東京の中央政府は、政権与党（自民党）に対する選挙応援の見返り として地方の建設業者に巨大事業の発注と言う「贈物（近代化支援）」で報 いた。地方の請負業者は特に忠実な支援者とみなされた。この事は全国をコ ンクリートで固めた、とやや誇張して語られた。追加資金や維持管理費は全 く考慮されなかったようだ。東京から大阪までの空港密度は、関西空港、中 部空港等々の他、最近開港された静岡空港等他に例を見ない。多くの空港は 充分に利用されているとは言い難く、それにも拘らず官僚は大手航空会社2 社に殆どの空港利用を求めてきた。関西の空港の中には、特に週末多くの入 場者で賑わうテーマパークと化しているところもある。日本には拠点空港が 無いという批判があり、多くの旅客が競争相手の空港(ソウル)に逃げている 。[WSNH:これは残念な。日本の空港の優位性は素晴らしい設備、どこもかし こもビカビカに磨き上げられ、自宅の居間のような絨毯、完璧なサーヴィス と、どこの国の空港にも引けを取らない！] （出典：2009年11月11日付ターゲス・アンツァイガー紙） The Japanese taxpayers carry heavy on the so-called <burdens of the past>, which were accumulated in more than 50 years in power by former Governments (LDP). Such kinds of <projects> are among others 85 airports, numerous dams and bridges. In the past, the central government in Tokyo <remunerated> the regions with <presents> (support for modernization) in the way of bulk orders to local building companies as gratitude for the election support to the government party (LDP); local contractor were considered to be particularly loyal supporters. That led to the result that the <whole country> was plastered with concrete that is of course said a bit exaggeratedly; the follow-up- or the maintenance costs might have been edged out. The density of airports from Tokyo to Osaka, Kansai-, and Chubu-Airport etc. as well as the recently opened Shizuoka airport is unique. Many airports are badly used to capacity and though the <bureaucracy> requests the two major Japanese airlines to serve most of them. Some airports in the Kansai region are very popular by visitors as <Theme-Park>, particularly on weekends. It was criticized that there is no <Hub-Airport> in Japan; many passengers shall be lost to competitors (e.g. Seoul) therefore. [WSNH: It is a pity that Japan cannot play off its advantages such as an outstanding airport infrastructure, everywhere spick and span cleaned, carpets like in the living room at home and a perfect service] Der japanische Steuerzahler traegt schwer an so-genannten <Altlasten>, welche sich in mehr als 50 Jahren Macht ehemaliger Regierungen (LDP) angesammelt haben. Zu solchen <Projekten> gehoeren unter anderem 85 Verkehrsflughaefen, zahlreiche Staudaemme und Bruecken. In der Vergangenheit <belohnte> die Zentralregierung in Tokyo die Regionen als Dank fuer die Wahlunterstuetzung der Regierungspartei (LDP) mit <Geschenken> (Unterstuetzung zur Modernisierung) in Form von Grossauftraegen, an lokale Bauunternehmen, welche als besonders treue Unterstuetzer bezeichnet wurden. Dies fuehrte dazu, dass das <ganze Land> mit Beton zugepflastert wurde, etwas ueberspitzt gesagt; die Folge- oder Unterhaltskosten wurden wohl verdraengt. Die Dichte der Flughaefen von Tokyo bis Osaka, Kansai-Airport, Chubu-Airport usw. sowie dem kuerzlich eroeffneten Shizuoka Flughafen ist einmalig. Viele Flughaefen sind sehr schlecht ausgelastet und trotzdem verlangt die <Buerokratie>, dass die zwei grossen japanischen Fluggesellschaften die meisten anfliegen. Einzelne Flughaefen in der Kansai-Region sind vor allem am Wochenende bei den vielen Besuchern als <Thema-Park> beliebt. Es wird bemaengelt, dass es in Japan keinen <Hub-Airport> (Drehscheibe) gibt; viele Passagiere gehen deshalb an die Konkurrenz verloren (z.B. Seoul). Emperor Akihito acceded officially to the throne on November 12, 1990 as the 125th Tenno; he received the insignia on January 7, 1989 after the death of his father H.E. Emperor Hirohito (Showa Tenno). Besides his throne jubilee, he celebrated this year also his 75th anniversary. For the celebration, thousands of enthusiastic people gathered at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, where a parade, a concert and cultural events took place. In his speech, H.E. Emperor Akihito reminded of the historical past of Japan and the importance of peace. H.E. Kaiser Akihito stieg am 12. November 1990 als 125. Tenno offiziell auf den Kaiser Thron; er bekam die Insignien am 7. Januar 1989 nach dem Tod seines Vaters, H.E. Kaiser Hirohito (Showa Tenno). Nebst seinem Thronjubilaeum feierte er dieses Jahr ebenfalls seinen 75. Geburtstag. Zur Feier versammelten sich tausende von begeisterten Menschen beim Kaiserpalast in Tokyo, wo eine Parade, ein Konzert und kulturelle Veranstaltungen durchgefuehrt wurden. In einem Zeitungsartikel wird darauf hingewiesen, dass der US-Praesident auch als <Bittsteller> und <Schuldner> nach Asien kommt. Japan und China finanzieren zusammen 45% der US-Auslandschulden. (Quelle: Tages-Anzeiger/NZZ-Online vom 12/13.11.2009) 8) 教室に携帯電話用収納庫 Test with mobile phone safe in the class room (Sat. 14.11.2009 Smi) Versuch mit Mobiltelefon Tresor im Klassenzimmer マイレン市（ツューリッヒ州）の中等学校の一クラスで、2週間の間授業中 携帯電話の完全な使用放棄を自主的に実施した。授業の始めに携帯電話は 「格納庫」に収められ、鍵は教師だけが持つ。現行の校則は、教室では携 帯電話は単に電源を切るだけで、引き渡しは法律では要求出来ない事にな っている。この試みは教育的な見地から行われ、初めての結果は効果的と 評価された。児童はいつもより集中し、教室も静かだった。 （2009年11月14日付ターゲス・アンツァイガー紙） A class of a secondary school in Meilen (Zurich) abstains completely from the use of the mobile phone [Handy] during class within the scope of a voluntary trial for two weeks. At the beginning of class, the mobile phones are locked into a <safe>, whereas only the teacher has a key for it. According to the present school rules, mobile phones must only be switched off during class; a hand over of them cannot be requested legally. The project is considered to be an educational measure and the first results are positive; it rules a better concentration and there is more silence in the classroom. Eine Klasse einer Sekundarschule in Meilen (ZH) verzichtet im Rahmen eines freiwilligen Versuchs waehrend zwei Wochen auf den vollstaendigen Gebrauch des Mobiltelefons [Handy] waehrend dem Unterricht. Zu Beginn des Unterrichts werden die Mobiltelefone im <Tresor> eingeschlossen, wobei nur der Lehrer einen Schluessel hat. Gemaess geltender Schulordnung muss das Mobiltelefon in der Klasse lediglich ausgeschaltet sein; eine Abgabe kann rechtlich nicht verlangt werden. Es handelt sich um eine erzieherische Massnahme und die ersten Ergebnisse sind positiv; es herrscht eine bessere Konzentration und es ist mehr Ruhe im Klassenzimmer. However, it is said the passport holder has to register himself when he wants to use the <E-Immigration> procedure. First, we always send our luggage by <Sky-porter service> to our second accommodation place otherwise, it is nearly impossible to move with big luggage. Next, we pick up our advance orders (e.g. books) at the airport shopping mall; that is very much appreciated, that certain shops accept e-mail orders in advance. This time, we board the <Narita JR Express/N'EX> train bound for Tokyo station; in the past we used to travel by <Airport Limousine Bus> to the hotel. Seat reservation is recommended, as it was fully booked. Inside the carriage, you are accommodated as comfortable as in an airplane or even better. The travel time is faster than by Limousine bus; anyway the first night, we stay this time at the traditional and newly renovated <Marunouchi Hotel> just outside Tokyo station.
