The City is located in a scenic beautiful region, where it is however a bit cold in winter. The local economy is prosperous and the City offers to new settlers a fully equipped infrastructure with library, cultural center, grammar school, sports facilities and a polyclinic. Local products such as salmon, clams, dairy products and an intact nature make it possible to conduct a healthy and enjoyable life. Recently, a couple from Osaka has moved into their newly built house; they are enthusiastic about the beauty of the nature and the kindness of the local people and authorities. They had spent their vacations in the past already there. There is now a second town called Yakumo (on the way to Hakodate) which offers free land for house building too. [WSNH: Such opportunities are not always available; Yakumo reminded me of Switzerland regarding to its landscape.] Die Stadt Shibetsu-Shi in Hokkaido schenkt Personen, welche sich im Ort niederlassen und ein Haus bauen kostenlos ein Stueck Land. Die Stadt liegt in einer landschaftlich wunderschoenen Gegend, wobei es im Winter jedoch etwas kalt wird. Die lokale Wirtschaft blueht und die Stadt bietet Neusiedlern eine vollstaendige Infrastruktur mit Bibliothek, Kulturhaus, Gymnasium, Sportanlagen und einer Poliklinik. Lokale Produkte wie Lachs, Muscheln, Milchprodukte und die intake Natur ermoeglichen ein gesundes und abwechslungsreiches Leben. Kuerzlich hat ein Ehepaar aus Osaka ihr neues Haus bezogen; sie sind begeistert von der Schoenheit der Natur und der Freundlichkeit der lokalen Leute und Behoerden. Sie haben hier frueher oft Urlaub gemacht. Es gibt bereits eine zweite Stadt namens Yakumo (auf dem Weg nach Hakodate), welche ebenfalls kostenlos Bauland abgibt. So far a diagnosis, whether someone had suffered a heart attack was often only after six hours possible. Thanks to the new test which is based on three criteria, the interview and examination, the electrocardiogram (ECG) and the blood test, now within a short time it can be recognized whether there are damaged myocardial muscles, so called <Troponin> or not. Due to that discovery, patients with chest pains can be treated now quicker and more goal-oriented. The results based on a study conducted with 700 patients; it was just published in the <New England Journal of Medicine>. Eine Forschergruppe des Universitaetsspitals Basel entwickelte erfolgreich einen neuen Bluttest fuer die Fruehdiagnostik bei einem akuten Herzinfarkt. Bisher war eine Diagnose, ob jemand einen Herzinfarkt erlitten hatte, oft erst nach sechs Stunden moeglich. Dank dem neuen Test, welcher auf drei Kriterien basiert, der Befragung und Untersuchung, der Herzstromkurve (EKG) und dem Bluttest, kann jetzt innert kurzer Zeit festgestellt werden, ob es geschaedigte Herzmuskelzellen, so genannte <Troponine> gibt. Patienten mit Brustschmerzen koennen dadurch rascher und zielorientierter behandelt werden. The local priest has developed a <chapel guide>, which explains to the interested guests in three languages the many local chapels and places of grace (pilgrimage sites) around the mountain world in Zermatt. Per year more than 100,000 candles are lit; for the humans that is a sign and a need for a moment of silence. Japanese guests appreciate it, when they can light a candle; for them it is a kind of sacrificial offering. The <chapel guide> enjoys a great demand and it was published already in a second edition. Der weltbekannte Ferienort Zermatt bietet seinen Gaesten nicht nur eine einmalige Berglandschaft mit dem weltberuehmten Matterhorn, sondern befriedigt ebenfalls das Beduerfnis der Menschen nach Religiositaet und Spiritualitaet in den Ferien. Der lokale Pfarrer entwickelte einen <Kapellenfuehrer> (Guide), welcher den interessierten Gaesten in drei Sprachen die vielen lokalen Kapellen und Gnadenorte in der Bergwelt um Zermatt erklaert. Pro Jahr werden mehr als 100 000 Kerzen angezuendet; fuer die Menschen ist dies ein Zeichen und ein Beduerfnis fuer einen Moment der Stille. Japanische Gaeste schaetzen es, dass sie ein Licht anzuenden koennen, wobei es fuer sie eine Art von Opfergabe bedeutet. Europa ist der jap. Mobiltelefone nicht wuerdig? なぜ日本の携帯電話がヨーロッパでわずかしか販売されないのか疑問である 。日本の携帯電話は、世界最高の機能と品質を誇り追随を許さない。日本に は一億人のUMTSスマートフォンのユーザーがいて、その数は米国の倍に及ぶ 。シャープ、パナソニック、富士通、東芝などの8社の著名な携帯電話製造 メーカーがある。携帯電話の機能と種類は日本では限りがない。日本の携帯 電話の高い完成度と革新性にもかかわらず、ヨーロッパのユーザーの要求に は合っていない。国内市場の成長のお陰で、今まで海外市場を考慮する必要 もなかったが、日本での売り上げが減少し、各メーカーは海外市場に目を向 けざるを得なくなった。日本における「iPhone」の好調な売れ行きは、日本 のメーカーが長期間「ハードウェア」にこだわりすぎ、「ソフトウェア」を 軽視してきたことを示している。 （2009年8月24日付けターゲス・アンツァイガー・オンラインより） It was asked why Japanese mobile phones are sold in Europe only in a small number of items. Japanese mobile phones are regarding to its functionality and quality worldwide unrivaled and simply top. In Japan there are 100 Mio. UMTS-Smartphone-users; that are twice as many as in the USA. There are alone eight prestigious mobile phone producers such as Sharp, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba etc. The functions and the choice of mobile phones in Japan are unlimited. It is assumed that Japanese mobile phones might be less orientated to the needs of Europeans despite its perfection and innovation. Thanks to the national growth, there was no need to achieve a global strategy so far. The declining selling in Japan might lead to the conclusion that the manufacturers will target increasingly the overseas markets. The sales of the (US-made) <iPhone> in Japan showed that the Japanese producers have concentrated too long on <hardware> and neglected the <software>. Japanische Mobiltelefone sind von ihrer Funktionalitaet und Qualitaet her weltweit unvergleichbar und Spitze. In Japan gibt 100 Mio. UMTS-Smartphone-Benutzer, dies sind doppelt so viele wie in den USA und es gibt allein acht angesehene Mobiltelefon-Hersteller wie Sharp, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba usw. Die Funktionen und die Auswahl der Mobiltelefone in Japan sind unbegrenzt. Es wird vermutet, dass japanische Mobile- telefone trotz ihrer Perfektion und Innovation zu wenig auf die Beduerfnisse der Europaer ausgerichtet sind. Dank dem inlaendischen Wachstum war es bisher nicht noetig sich global durchzusetzen. Der ruecklaeufige Absatz in Japan duerfte dazu fuehren, dass sich die Hersteller jetzt vermehrt auf Uebersee ausrichten. Die Verkaeufe von <iPhone> in Japan zeigten, dass sich die japanischen Hersteller zu lange auf die <Hardware> konzentrierten und dabei die <Software> vernachlaessigten. The reason for that is based in a new tax, which will be enacted in Great Britain as from April 1st, 2010. As from that date, persons which earn more than 260,000 Swiss Francs must pay 51% of it as tax to the State. Besides, people which have residence in Great Britain have to newly pay tax also on earnings made in abroad. There are no reliable figures yet regarding to the number of British nationals which have relocated already to Switzerland. Tax consultants of the company <Sovereign Group> mentioned a number of 1,000 among their clients; the company <Kinetic Partners> said that 23 alternative funds had relocated. Great Britain has a budget deficit of presently 12 billion Swiss Francs and needs urgently earnings. Ranked as number one is Singapore, as number two the USA and ranked as number three Switzerland and Taiwan; Japan and Belgium are placed on rank number four, rank five is covered by Sweden and on the next rankings follow the Netherlands and France. The criteria for the study are among others, the cost of labor in relation to productivity, the level of education of the employees, cost which are caused by times absent and strikes. Thanks to a good infrastructure, education and motivation of the labor force, Switzerland has reached a top ranking. The study distinguishes between industrialized- and development countries. Gemaess der aktuellen <Weltrangliste der Arbeitsproduktivitaet> des Institutes <Business Environment Risk Intelligence (BERI)> liegt die Schweiz auf dem dritten Rang unter neunzehn Industrielaendern. Den ersten Rang belegt Singapur, auf Rang zwei ist die USA und auf Rang drei sind die Schweiz und Taiwan; Japan und Belgien liegen auf Rang vier, auf Rang fuenf ist Schweden und auf den weiteren Plaetzen sind die Niederlande gefolgt von Frankreich. The beginning of the week, Yosano Kaoru scared the citizens once more by telling them that they had to expect a despotism by the DPJ in case of an election victory of the DPJ! Falls es sich die japanischen Waehler nicht im letzten Moment anders ueberlegen, rechnen die meisten Umfragen mit einem grossen Wahlsieg der Oppositionspartei, der Demokratischen Partei Japans (DPJ) unter dem Vorsitzenden Hatoyama Yukio. Es wird davon gesprochen, dass DPJ die Zahl ihrer Sitze auf beinahe 300 erhoehen koennte; bisher haelt sie deren 115 Sitze. Im kurzen Wahlkampf gab es in den letzten Tagen noch schlechte Worte seitens der LDP. Aso Taro erklaerte, <dass junge Leute, welche als Zeitarbeiter schlecht verdienten, es nicht wert seien, geheiratet zu werden>!!! Im letzten Jahr beleidigte er mit seinen Aeusserungen die Frauen und aeltere Menschen! Anfangs der Woche wollte Yosano Kaoru den Buergern nochmals Angst machen, indem er bei einem Wahlsieg von einer <Despotie> (Diktatur) durch die DPJ sprach! The next day, Sunday, we were offered a full Japanese breakfast ahead of the usual breakfast time; I very much would like to say a great thank you to okami-san for her kindness. We boarded the early Airport Limousine Bus at <Dogo-Onsen-Station> just next to the historical site; it took us to Matsuyama Airport, 5 km outside of the City. It was only a 35 minutes drive; fortunately, there were no traffic jams. Our plane for Tokyo-Haneda airport was scheduled for 9:30h a.m. Our main luggage had been sent to our final accommodation in Narita already before by courier service. By public transport (Monorail, JR), we went directly to the electronic town Akihabara to pick up an electronic item, we had ordered in advance. Moving around Tokyo makes really tired; we were glad to have a rest at our hotel with night view to the Japanese parliament building (Kokkai).
