In only two days, 2,680 new cases were reported; so far worldwide 21,940 infections were recorded. So far 125 people died; the virus was identified in 69 countries. In Switzerland, in the meantime 14 cases have been confirmed; 12 people came back with the influenza virus from the USA, Mexico and Canada. An other person from the Dominican Republic and one person got ill in Switzerland, probably infected by a traveller coming form the USA. The Swiss Government allowed to purchase an additional 40,000 packages of <Tamiflu> as emergency stock. The Federal Office of Health declared the following countries as risk zones: (up to now) USA, Mexico, Canada and (new) the Dominican Republic, Chile, Panama and Australia. Returnees from those states should immediately contact a doctor when showing influenza symptoms. Die neue Grippe des Typs <A H1N1> auch <Schweinegrippe> genannt, verbreitet sich immer schneller. Rueckkehrer aus diesen Staaten sollten sich bei Grippe-Symptomen sofort bei einem Arzt melden. It will take place from May 12 to August 12, 2012 at the harbour area of Yeosu. It is estimated that about 80 nations and 10 international organizations will participate and an approximate 8 million visitors are expected. The World Exposition is under the motto of <Living Oceans and Coasts>; the event intends to contribute to a sustainable handling with natural resources and to the preservation of the oceans. The Swiss budget will be 7 Mio. Sfr., however an appropriate contribution by the private sector is expected too. South Korea is an important partner for Switzerland and in the focus of the Swiss science- and foreign affairs policy. Die Schweizer Regierung nimmt die Einladung fuer eine Teilnahme an der Welt-Ausstellung 2012 in der Stadt Yeosu in Suedkorea an. Diese findet in der Zeit vom 12. Mai bis zum 12. August 2012 am Hafen von Yeosu statt. Es sollen zirka 80 Nationen und 10 internationale Organisationen daran teilnehmen und es werden ungefaehr 8 Mio. Besucher erwartet. Die Welt-Ausstellung steht unter dem Motto <Lebendige Ozeane und Kuesten>; sie will an den nachhaltigen Umgang mit den natuerlichen Rohstoffen und zum Erhalt der Meere beitragen. Das Budget der Schweiz betraegt 7 Mio. Sfr., wobei ebenfalls eine angemessene Unterstuetzung der Privatwirtschaft erwartet wird. Suedkorea ist fuer die Schweiz ein bedeutender Partner und ein Schwerpunkt der Schweizer Wissenschafts- und Aussenpolitik. She will take over her new function the beginning of 2010; the executive council of the EBU elected the 49-years old Dutch national this week. The woman has occupied the present post since the year 2004. The EBU is the association of 75 broadcasting companies under public law originated from 56 European countries. (Quelle: NZZ Online vom 05.06.2009) http://www.ebu.ch/ 4) ベルンのヴァーチャル法医学 Virtual forensic from Berne Virtuelle Forensik aus Bern (Wedn. 03.06.2009 Smi) ベルン大学は独特の方法を開発し、これにより法医学におけるいわゆるヴァ ーチャル解剖が可能になった。ベルン大学の新方式ではコンピューターを用 い、死体の極めて詳細な検査が可能となった。こんにちでは、この方法は法 医学において重要な位置を占めている。将来は、この新方式の方が実際に遺 体を解剖するよりも多くの情報を得られることになる。ベルン方式は、コン ピューター断層撮影（CT）や核磁気共鳴画像法（MRI）を用いて立体分析を行 う。米国では戦死した米軍兵士の遺体はすべて解剖されているが、2001/2002 年にベルン大学は「米軍検死官」に新方式の概念を指導し、2004年から戦没 した米軍の兵士はヴァーチャル解剖されるようになった。ベルン大学の研究 者の革新的なアイディアは1990年代に遡る。 （2009年6月3日付けターゲス・アンツァイガー紙より） The University of Berne developed a special procedure, which allows a so-called virtual autopsy within the scope of the forensic jurisprudence. With that method, the University of Berne can conduct by the way of computer a very detailled examination of a dead body. That procedure is nowadays an inherent part of the forensic jurisprudence; in the future, that method will produce more information than the ordinary postmortem examination. The Berne method is based on a three-dimensional analysis by computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In the USA, all killed in action (KIA) members of the armed forces will have performed an autopsy. In the year 2001/02, the University of Berne instructed the <Armed Forces Medical Examiners> with the innovative concept. Since 2004 alle killed in action US military personnel will get through a <virtual autopsy>. The innovative idea of the researchers of the University of Berne dates back to the years of the nineties. Die Universitaet Bern entwickelte ein besonderes Verfahren, welches im Rahmen der Gerichtsmedizin (Forensik) eine so-genannte virtuelle Autopsie (Obduktion) ermoeglicht. Mit der Methode der Universitaet Bern kann via Computer eine sehr detaillierte Untersuchung des toten Koerpers durchgefuehrt werden. Dieses Verfahren ist heutzutage ein fester Bestandteil der Rechtsmedizin; in Zukunft liefert diese Methode mehr Informationen als die uebliche Oeffnung des Koerpers. Das Berner Verfahren basiert auf einer drei-dimensionalen Analyse mittels Computer-Tomografie (CT) oder Magnetresonanz-Tomografie (MRI). In den USA werden alle gefallenen Angehoerigen der Streitkraefte obduziert; im Jahr 2001/02 wurden die <Armed Forces Medical Examiners> durch die Universitaet Bern mit dem neuartigen Konzept vertraut gemacht. (Quelle: Tages-Anzeiger vom 03.06.2009) http://virtopsy.com/ http://plaza.umin.ac.jp/~ai-ai/english.htm http://www.irm.unibe.ch/content/index_eng.html 5) 欧州自転車宅配チャンピオン European Cycle Messenger Champion Europameister der Fahrradkuriere (Tue. 02.06.2009 Smi) 第14回自転車宅配便欧州選手権が5月28日から6月1日までベルリンで開催さ れた。男子の部では33歳のツューリッヒ出身のシュテファン・フローリッヒ が優勝、2009年のヨーロッパチャンピオンになった。2位もスイスのマーテ ィン・ブルンナーだった。昨年の勝者ドイツのミヒャエル・ブリンクマンは 今回3位。今回の催しにはヨーロッパと世界中から数百の自転車宅配が参加、 スタートでは日本からも参加があった。女子の部のレースではストックホル ムから参加したヨハンナ・レーダーが優勝、ジュネーヴから参加したナタリ ー・ヴェンガーは3位だった。スイス人勝者は3年前は未だ癌の闘病中で、化 学療法の治療を受けていた。当時彼は筋肉を10kgも減らし、体重は100kg近 くあった。彼は12年の自転車宅配便の経験があり、傍ら最近経営学の勉強を 終えた。（出典：2009年6月2日付ターゲス・アンツァイガー紙） The 14th European Championship of the Cycle Messengers took place in the City of Berlin (Germany) from May 28 to June 1st, 2009. In the category men, the 33-years old Stefan Froehlich from Zurich was the winner and therefore European Champion 2009; ranked as number two was even an other Swiss Martin Brunner. The last year's winner, the German Michael Brinkmann was ranked this time as number three. Several hundred cycle messengers from Europe and the world participated at the event; even a participant from Japan was at the start. In the category women, Johanna Reeder from Stockholm (Sweden) won the race; Nathalie Wenger from Geneva became third. The Swiss winner did fight against a cancer illness only three years ago and then was treated by chemotherapy. At that time, he lost 10 kilograms of muscle mass and his weight amounted to nearly 100 kilograms. He is doing is job as cycle messenger for 12 years and recently, he has finished along the way his studies in business administration. Die 14. Europameisterschaft der Fahrradkuriere fand vom 28. Mai bis 01. Juni 2009 in der Stadt Berlin (Deutschland) statt. In der Kategorie Maenner wurde der 33-jaehrige Stefan Froehlich aus Zuerich Sieger, also Europameister 2009; Rang 2 belegte sogar ein weiterer Schweizer Martin Brunner. Der letztjaehrige Sieger der Deutsche Michael Brinkmann belegte diesmal Rang 3. An der Veranstaltung beteiligten sich mehrere hundert Fahrradkuriere aus Europa und der Welt; am Start war sogar ein Teilnehmer aus Japan. Bei den Frauen gewann das Rennen Johanna Reeder aus Stockholm; Nathalie Wenger aus Genf wurde Dritte. Der Schweizer Sieger kaempfte vor drei Jahren noch gegen eine Krebserkrankung und wurde mit Chemotherapie behandelt. Damals verlor er 10 Kilogramm an Muskelmasse und sein Gewicht betrug fast 100 Kilogramm. Thanks to the embedded <GPS-technology>, the University authorities intend to check whether all of the 550 students comply with their duty to attend the lectures on site. The university authorities have signed an agreement with the company <Softbank>, the exclusive distribution company of <iPhone> in Japan. It is planned that the students will receive through the <Smartphone> channel teaching material, exercises and videos; they are also encouraged to develop their own applications for the gadget. There are many students, who do not attend the lectures, asking friends to sign the attendance list with their names. Alle Studenten der <Schule fuer Sozial-Informatik> an der Aoyama Gakuin Universitaet in Tokyo sollen als Geschenk ein <Smartphone> (iPhone) von Apple erhalten. On the ranking list for the year 2009, the Swiss telecommunication enterprise <Swisscom> was ranked on the extraordinary rank number 17; with that ranking <Swisscom> is ahead of famous Groups such as <Apple> (No. 19), <Microsoft> (No. 22) and <Google> (No. 37). <NTT> (Nippon Telegraph & Telephone> reached the ranking number 60; ranked on number one to three are <Amazon.com>, <Oracle> and <SAP> (from Germany). (Quelle: Tages-Anzeiger vom 04.06.2009) http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09/05/0521_IT_100/index.htm 8) ツューリッヒ大学の試験日 Exam's day at the University of Zurich Pruefungstag der Universitaet Zuerich (Wedn. 03.06.2009 Smi) 今週はツューリッヒ大学の経済学部と法学部の試験日だった。今回は900 人の学生が初めてオェーリコンの「ツューリッヒ展示場」で試験を受けた 。この他180人の学生には学内二か所の講義室があてがわれた。ツューリ ッヒ大学には、これ程の数の学生を収容出来る適当な場所が無かった。試 験は厳格に実施されなければならないので、4段階の入室検査が実施され、 各学生には仕切り壁のある1人用の机があてがわれた。この場所の問題は、 試験の増加を求める「ボローニャ大学改革」と学生数の増加等が原因。 （出典：2009年6月3日付ターゲス・アンツァイガー紙） This week was exam's day for the students of the faculties of economics and jurisprudence at the University of Zurich. This time 900 students took their exams for the first time at the premises of the <Messe Zurich> (Exhibition hall) in Oerlikon; for a further 180 students, there was space at two auditoriums at the University campus. The University Zurich has no appropriate premises with sufficient space for so many students. The examinees had to go through a very severe, four-stage security entrance check; on the other hand, each student had his own desk with a dividing wall. The reason for the shortage of space is based among others in the <Bologna-University reform> requesting more exams and the increased number of students. Diese Woche war Pruefungstag fuer die Studenten der Wirtschafts- und Rechtswissenschaftlichen Faktultaet der Universitaet Zuerich. Diesmal legten 900 Studenten die Pruefungen erstmals in den Raeumen der <Messe Zuerich> (Oerlikon) ab; fuer weitere 180 Studenten gab es Platz in zwei Hoersaelen an der Universitaet selber. An der Universitaet Zuerich gibt es keine geeigneten Raeumlichkeiten, mit genuegend Platz fuer soviele Studierende. Die Prueflinge mussten eine sehr strenge, vierstufige Zutrittskontrolle passieren; dafuer verfuegte jeder Student ueber ein persoenliches Pult mit einer Trennwand. Der Grund fuer die Platznot liegt unter anderem in der <Bologna-Reform> mit mehr Pruefungen und an der gestiegenen Zahl der Studenten. The distance to the goal was given with 1.7 km from <La Foret> with a walking time of 45 minutes. Up to the peak, it took us 90 minutes arriving at around 12:30h. The hiking trail led through forest area, coming across beautiful green moss fields (Koke mori) and passing a little stream. Near to the top, there were no more trees, but bamboo plants(Sassa) and other low growing bushes. On the top, there was a beautiful panoramic view to the surroundings, just at the opposite side, one could see the famous <Tsurugisan>, which we had climbed up the other day.
