Entdeckung: Molekuele von Meeres-Schnecke vs. Blutkrebs. ベリンツォーナ（TI）に在るスイスの腫瘍学研究所（IOR）の研究者とアイルラ ンドのゴールウェイ大学の研究者達は、アイルランド産のウミウシから、治療困 難な血液がんに効果を示す新たな天然化合物を発見した。 「Antiopella Cristata」という名のこの軟体動物は、抗癌作用のある物質を生 成する。研究グループは、アイルランド沿岸の海洋サンプルから400以上の抽出 物を収集・分析した。 スイスイタリア語大学（USI）の腫瘍学研究所（IOR）に依ると、このウミウシが 産生するブリオスタチンは、がん細胞の成長と生存に影響を与える可能性があ る。 これまで知られていなかったブリオスタチン誘導体は、非常に低濃度でも、健康 な細胞に損傷を与えることなく、リンパ腫細胞の増殖を阻害することができた。 初期試験では、この化合物が腫瘍細胞内の重要なプロセス、特に細胞分裂や生存 に関連するプロセスに影響を与えることが明らかになった。 従来の化学療法では、一部の血液癌は治療が難しい。 この発見は、長期的には、悪性リンパ腫の治療法開発に向けた新たな研究の道を 開く可能性がある。 これが将来、医薬品になるかどうかは、現時点ではまだ不明。 筆頭著者である腫瘍学研究所（IOR）のフィリッポ・スプリアーノ博士は、これ までに得られた結果は「可能な限り毒性のない抗癌剤」の開発に非常に有望だと 言う。アイルランドのゴールウェイ大学のオリヴィエ・P・トーマス教授は、海 洋生物は、何百万年もの間、生存戦略の一環として、ユニークな化学物質を開発 してきたと説明する。 【参考】血液がんとは： https://oncolo.jp/news/hematologic-about Schweizer Forscher des Instituts fuer Onkologische Forschung (IOR) in Bellinzona (TI) und Forscher der Universitaet Galway in Irland, haben eine neue natuerliche Verbindung aus irischen Meeres-Schnecken (Sea- Snails) entdeckt, die das Potenzial gegen eine schwer zu behandelne Form von Blutkrebs (Blood Cancer) aufweist. Die Meeres-Schnecke mit Namen "Antiopella Cristata" produziert Substanzen mit krebs-hemmender Wirkung. Forscher-Gruppe hat entlang irischer Kueste ueber 400 Extrakte aus Meeres-Proben gesammelt und analysiert. So-genannte Bryostatine, welche die Meeres-Schnecke produziert, koennen das Wachstum und das Ueberleben von Krebs-Zellen beeinflussen, gemaess der Universitaet della Svizzera Italiana (USI), zu der Onkologie-Institut (IOR) gehoert. Ein bisher unbekanntes Bryostatin-Derivat konnte das Wachstum von Lymphom-Zellen bereits in sehr niedrigen Konzentrationen hemmen, ohne gesunde Zellen zu schaedigen. Erste Tests zeigten zudem, dass die Verbindung wichtige Prozesse in Tumor-Zellen beeinflusst, darunter solche, die mit Zell-Teilung und Ueberleben zusammenhaengen. Mit herkoemmlicher Chemotherapie sind einige Blutkrebs-Arten schwer zu behandeln. Die aktuelle Entdeckung koennte langfristig neue Forschungs- Ansaetze fuer Therapien gegen aggressive Lymphome eroeffnen. Ob daraus jemals ein Medikament entsteht, ist zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch unklar. Gemaess Dr. Filippo Spriano vom Onkologie-Institut (IOR), Erst-Autor der Studie, sind die bisher erzielten Ergebnisse viel- versprechend, um "ein moeglichst ungiftiges Krebs-Medikament" zu entwickeln. Gemaess dem Gemeinde-Praesident muss das Gleichgewicht zwischen dem wirtschaftlichem Wachstum und Lebens-Qualitaet fuer die lokale Bevoelkerung gewahrt werden. Die bestehende Infrastruktur kommt an ihre Grenzen; noch mehr Gaeste, die Strassen, Wasser-Versorgung und Abfall-Management zusaetzlich belasten. Stimmung in der lokalen Bevoelkerung sei eindeutig; mehr Tourismus soll es vorerst nicht geben. Fuer das 200-Betten Hotel-Projekt waere eine neue Ueberbauungs-Ordnung noetig gewesen; eine Mehrheit an der Gemeinde- Versammlung waere kaum erreicht worden. Gemeinde entschied den weiteren Verlauf wichtiger, bereits fortgeschrittener Projekte im Gebiet abzuwarten.
